UNT System Enterprise benefit-eligible employees have access to a wealth of employee benefits.  We offer health insurance for the employee and eligible dependents, as well as optional coverages like dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending programs.  UNT System Enterprise employees who are in leave-eligible jobs also receive generous leave benefits. Employees participate in a retirement program and also have optional voluntary retirement savings plan options. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and the In the Green: UNT System Well-being program provide a myriad of resources for employees that can enhance their physical, interpersonal, and financial health.  Employees can also enjoy a variety of employee perks like discounts for travel, restaurants, and entertainment.

Monthly Wellness Topics 

The Five to Thrive Nutrition Challenge beginning April 14 to May 11, 2026.

The goal of this challenge is to eat well, one day at a time to track fruits and veggies for 28 days and aim for five  (5) servings daily.

Transform your habits, transform your health. Most of what we do every day is a habit, including what and how we eat. Let's break out of autopilot to start a new habit of eating more fruits and vegetables. This fun challenge will give you the support, recipes and skills to keep it up long after the challenge ends!

Tips and resources for women during perimenopause and menopause

During these times, women’s hormone levels shift and can cause physical changes and emotional symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings and changes in menstrual cycles. Other common symptoms include weight fluctuations, sleep problems and memory lapses.

Educational Session: BCBS Mental Health Resources

Please join the Benefits Team and BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS) on Wednesday, May 13, from noon to 1pm for an informational session on the Learn to Live Program and other mental health related benefits offerred through BCBS. 

Learn to Live is an online, on-demand, self-paced mental health service grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy. This style of therapy focuses on thoughts and actions and how adjusting those can positively impact an individual’s state of mind. All Learn to Live programs can be accessed online via desktop, tablet or mobile device and use videos and interactive lessons to engage participants.

This online, coach-supported program can help you with mental health concerns including depression, stress, anxiety, insomnia and substance use.

The program is an added benefit at no cost to you or your family members and is a part of your HealthSelect Medical Plan to support your journey.  Check out the FAQ to learn more.  

 This sessions will be provided via Teams and is available to all UNT System (UNT, UNT Health, UNT Dallas and UNT System Administration) employees.  No reservation is needed.  

Important Information 

Benefits Summer Open Enrollment

Benefits Summer Open Enrollment for Plan Year 2027 (September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027) is scheduled from July 6 through  July 17, 2026 for all four UNT institutions. 

Healthcare Insurance Rate Change

ERS is planning to increase healthcare insurance rates by 8% for coverage beginning September 1, 2026 with the first increase reflected in your October 1, 2026 paycheck.   

Dental Provider Change

ERS has chosen Humana Dental to replace Delta Dental effective September 1, 2026. Levels of coverage and service are expected  to be the same and more information, to include rates, will be included as part of Benefits Summer Open Enrollment.   You may continue to use Delta Dental through August 31, 2026. 

Confirm Your Address is Correct in ERS

As we approach Benefits Summer Enrollment, please take a moment to log in to your ERS account and confirm that your address is up to date or call ERS at 1-877-277-4377. ERS will be mailing Benefits Statements in the coming weeks.
