Dennis Burns

Assistant Vice Chancellor & Chief Human Resources Officer, UNT HSC

Dennis is a seasoned human resources leader and business partner with more than 25 years of tactical and strategic human resources experience in private, public and academic sectors. He spent many years in healthcare and joined higher education in 2023. He brings a unique blend of experience in providing leadership across the spectrum of human resources service lines and a strong track record of driving measurable results. He holds multiple professional certifications, including Senior Professional in Human Resources, Senior Certified Professional with Society of Human Resources Management, Certified Total Strength Deployment Inventory Facilitator and a Just Culture Certified Trainer. Burns earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, and a Master of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
