Lower administrative fees for optional, voluntary retirement savings plans

Tuesday, December 14, 2021

A lower participant fee for the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) and Voluntary Retirement (403b “TSA”) Savings Plan will be seen on April quarterly statements. Effective Jan. 1, 2022, UNT System ORP vendors will be lowering their administrative fees.

Retirement Investment vendor’s new fee structures will be distributed via email and regular mail. Both are scheduled to arrive in December.

You can monitor your ORP account (and your 403b voluntary savings plan) online – view balances, update investments, change vendors and initiate transactions from your UNTS ORP and TSA "Netbenefits" portal. While there, explore some of the financial planning resources and tools offered by Fidelity, one of our four vendors (AIG, Fidelity, TIAA and Voya). You don’t have to be a Fidelity customer to use these great resources.

Need financial advisement or is it time for an investment check-up with your vendor? Our UNT ORP vendors are available to meet virtually or, when safety protocols allow, in person. View contact information for all four ORP vendors so that you can schedule a call, video or face-to-face meeting when convenient for you.

If you aren’t participating in either of the Voluntary Retirement Savings plans available to you as a UNT System employee, it’s a great time to check those out as we head into the new tax year, especially with lower fees. They’re a great way to build retirement income to help you meet those future goals you’ll be setting as we go into 2022.
