Pay Plan & Classification (Job) Descriptions

The pay plans for each UNT World Institution document the job titles and job codes for all executive, faculty, staff, hourly and task.  Each pay plan below can be opened as an Excel spreadsheet and will contain three tabs: Classified Pay Plan, Non-Classified Pay Plan, and Salary Grades and Ranges. The classified pay plan for staff includes the pay grade, salary range, FLSA status and Retirement Eligibility status for each title. The non-classified plan provides similar information for executive, faculty, hourly and task appointments, but these titles do not have a set salary range. Finally, each pay plan will provide a table listing all salary grades and their related salary ranges.

UNT World Staff Market Analysis and Salary Structure

UNT System Human Resources partnered with Segal Consulting on a comprehensive market salary study to assess the compensation for staff positions at all levels across UNT World compared to external markets. This study examined compensation comparisons for staff only, and not faculty.

Key Results of the Comprehensive Market Study

•    Consolidation of the differing pay structures of our four institutions into a single unified pay plan.
•    Staff members with a salary below entry for their new pay grade will receive an adjustment to the new entry salary. (This adjustment will be prorated if the employee is below 100% full-time employment or in a 9-month job.)
•    No staff member will see a decrease in pay.

Each institution’s pay plan – see links below – has been updated to reflect the new unified pay plan. The unified plan will facilitate consistency in job analysis across institutions and streamline salary pay grades.
