About the Equal Opportunity Office

The UNT System Equal Opportunity Office provides guidance for employees regarding state and federal programs related to equity, diversity, inclusion and non-discrimination in the workplace.

The UNT System is committed to providing an employment and learning environment at each component -- UNT, UNTHSC, UNT Dallas/UNT Dallas College of Law and UNT System Administration -- that gives each person the opportunity to be a productive and valued employee.

Title IX

The University of North Texas System is committed to ensuring an educational and employment environment that is free of discrimination and harassment on the basis of sex.

Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 is the federal statute that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. It reads:

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
